Deputies Find Meth Lab in Backseat Backpack
Two people were charged with intent to make methamphetamine after a traffic stop.

A man and a woman face criminal charges after officers found a disassembled meth lab in a backpack during a traffic stop Monday.
Jason Barnes, 33, and Katherine Sullivan, 36, of the 2000 block of Hackmann Estates Drive in St. Charles were charged Tuesday with intent to manufacture methamphetamine and illegal use of drug paraphernalia.
St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department deputies pulled over a car on westbound Interstate 370 near I-70 in St. Peters Thursday.
A deputy spotted Barnes and Sullivan in the vehicle’s backseat with a backpack that contained chemicals, equipment and tools used to make meth. The backpack also had spoons and syringes, according to court documents.
Bond was set at $50,000 each for Barnes and Sullivan, cash only.

Wait a minute...THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE!
Our sherriff convinced the councilmen to vote to remove our right to purchase Sudafed in St. Charles County. That immediately stopped all meth production and made life better for everyone.
Well, it's better for everyone who doesn't mind buying a less-useful and less-effective product, or for those who have to drive farther or waste their doctor's time to get a prescription (since the flu and cold are caused by viruses and not by bacteria).
Clearly, our masters know that prohibition works. Look at the raging successes of the 1920's and the War on Drugs.

That's actually not what Sheriff Tom Neer said. He said if the entire state of Missouri would enact the law requiring a prescription for pseudoephedrine, then it would cut down (not eliminate) the meth trade in the area drastically. He did say that with a countywide ban, people would simply go to St. Louis County and purchase pseudoephedrine, and a countywide ban would not be effective, especially if St. Louis County doesn't enact it. I'm not advocating one way or another -- but that's what he said.

That doesn't mean it will STOP the production of meth. They could have driven to St. Louis County and got the meds needed to make said product. No one said getting a prescription was going to halt production of meth but I would bet it has deterred some of it. The war on drugs is on-going, it takes a lot more than one law to stop it. Have you ever done your part to fight the war on drugs? I have!

kate was my best friend in high school..... she was a sister, daughter, aunty, bff, friend, and sister in law. i am sorry to comment in this manor. i agree that everything needs an RX. we need to win the war on drugs or we will continue to lose our loved ones. this situation is so sad.... especially when it is a person you once knew - full of love and life and laughter....... just saying. xoxoxox
