Driver Passed Out, Turned Over Car Carrying Two Children in DWI Crash, Police Say
St. Peters Police said Shannon Stone was driving under the influence of benzodiazepines, synthetic marijuana and opiates.
A woman driving under the influence of drugs passed out and her car overturned and struck a tree with both her children inside, according to St. Peters Police.
Shannon Stone, 32, of the 300 block of Windsor Place in St. Peters, was charged March 5 with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana.
St. Peters Police said she had been driving erratically when she passed out on Willot Road near Carrington July 10. Police said blood tests showed she had benzodiazepines, opiates and cannabinoids--or synthetic marijuana--in her system.
According to a court document, EMS workers and police officers notice she had slurred speech, slow reaction time and confusion.
Both children were under the age of 17. Neither child was seriously injured.

With kids in the car. I hope the kids are in someone else's care now. (And she is not allowed near them for quite some time).
