Matthew D. Walker tried to run from St. Charles County Sheriff's deputies when they arrived, officials said.
A St. Charles County man would not leave a neighbor’s home, tried to provoke a fight Tuesday, then ran from St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputies, officials said.
Matthew D. Walker, 22, of the first block of Jill Marie Court near St. Peters, was charged Tuesday with first-degree trespassing and resisting arrest.
A St. Charles County Sheriff's deputy said Walker was requested to leave his neighbor’s home numerous times and told to stay away. However, Walker threatened and antagonized a man, challenging him to fight, the deputy said.
When deputies arrived, the man ran away and was able to elude them for a long time, a deputy reported. Walker was caught running out his back door as deputies knocked on his front door, according to a probable cause statement prepared by deputies.
Walker was being held in St. Charles County jail Tuesday. Bail was set at $5,000.
