Man Stole Sunglasses Valued at $1,190 From Mall, Police Say

St. Peters Police said the man stole five pairs of Versace sunglasses and jeans.

A St. Louis man is accused of stealing several pair of sunglasses valued at $1,190 from a Mid Rivers Mall store.

DaJuan Stansberry, 28, of the first block of South Compton in St. Louis, was charged Jan. 14 with felony theft.

St. Peters Police said Stansberry stole five pairs of Versace sunglasses, valued at $1,190, from the Sunglasses Hut at Mid Rivers Mall on Jan. 11.

Police said when Stansberry was arrested, he had several pairs of jeans stolen from another store in the mall. The jeans, valued at $319, were damaged when the security tags were removed, according to the report.

Police said Stansberry said he stole the merchandise to support his drug habit.

Stansberry was being held in St. Charles County jail on Friday. Bail was set at $10,000, cash only.

Once again I will attempt a post that was rejected the last time on the subject of this criminal element crossing the bridges into the St. Charles County area, particularly in St. Peters. It is time to set up "thug" check points on the St. Louis county side of all the bridges coming into our area similar to the DWI road blocks used to identify drunk drivers. This report is another example of the invasion of that "element" endangering our community, Stop them at the rivers. They come here to pillage and rape because it is the "Golden Triangle". Pagano can set up a special task force with all the money that is coming into the onslaught of businesses that he breaks ground for on a weekly bases to protect those very businesses and as an after thought for him and the board of alderman, the residence! Banks in grocery stores is also a bad and dangerous practice as well! Don't just sit there! Do something!
