St. Peters Hosts Mike Bush Fantasy Baseball Camp
The camp, which is for children ages 7-14 who are deaf or hard of hearing, took place at the St. Peters Rec-Plex.
The 2012 edition of the Mike Bush Fantasy Baseball Camp for children ages 7-14 who are deaf or hard of hearing, recently came to the city of St. Peters
Campers celebrated the 21st year of the camp by hitting up the St. Peters Rec-Plex and the Rec-Plex South. The camp, which ran from June 25 to June 29, took place while St. Peters was under some intense heat. To make sure the campers were safe, the kids played outside early and were well-hydrated by a team of volunteers.
In addition to the baseball, campers went swimming and ice skating at the Rec-Plex. The camp ended with an award ceremony at TR Hughes Ballpark in O’Fallon, MO. Fred Bird from the Cardinals showed up yesterday as well.
The city of St. Peters is one of the sponsors of the event. St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano is very involved in the program, due in large part to his having grown up with deaf parents.
