St. Peters Police Announce Click It or Ticket Results
St. Peters Police took part in a national campaign to crack down on seat belt violations from May 21 to June 2.
The St. Peters Police Department took part in the national Click It or Ticket crackdown from May 21 to June 2.
During the time frame, St. Peters' officers issued a total of 145 traffic tickets including:
- 30 seat belt tickets
- 56 speeding tickets
- 59 other traffic violations.
According to a release from the St. Peters Police, seven out of 10 people killed in Missouri traffic crashes are unbuckled. Missouri’s seat belt use has remained relatively unchanged in the last six years. Missouri has 79 percent seat belt use, which is well below the national average of 85 percent. Teens and pick-up truck drivers are among those least likely to buckle up at 67 and 66 percent.
