Well they were sort of honest, however that won't help the poor person who lost the card. Mine is in my wallet where I always keep it wait where is my card.......?

I thought, at Costco, you had to have your Costco card (with your picture) and your AE or debit card to make a purchase? How did these people get away with the purchase?

If you have a costco amex you are thru the door. If you go thru self checkout you can use your amex with costco ID scan on the back. You don't need your costco card with you.

My thoughts exactly. They always ask for your Costco card first. So they either did not ask for that card, or they did and the cashier did not LOOK at that card and the CC to see they did not match. That is sad

I am actually the person who lost the card inside the store and yes, it was a Costco Amex. I, too, was upset at first wondering why the cashier didn't look at the picture of myself on back but then cameras showed them using the card at self checkout. Amex told me the exact amount of the transaction and time. This is how Costco traced it to which register. Then it was just a matter of finding the camera that captured the illegal transaction. I do thank Costo immensely. They acted urgently and with compassion as they dealt with this. And I thank the St. Peters police dept as they have been great at attempting to find out who these women are, publishing their picture and all. I think just knowing their pictures are out gives me a comfort knowing they are probably running a little scared right now.
