Authorities have identifed a St. Peters resident as the driver who died in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 64 in Chesterfield early Sunday morning. 

St. Peters resident Nick Watson, 18, was killed after police say he drove his car east into Chesterfield Valley from St. Charles on the wrong side of Highway 40/64. Police say Watson's car sideswiped a Greyhound Bus and then struck another car head-on. 

Chesterfield police Captain Steven Lewis said the driver of the second car, Mary Radcliffe, 57, of O'Fallon, was hospitalized. She is in stable condition remaining for treatment.

The Greyhound driver, 52-year-old Kansas City resident Andrew Williams and another bus passenger, Jefferson Scott, 27, were injured in the first collision, and hospitalized. Both men were treated and released. 

The crash occured at 3:30 a.m on Sunday morning and closed highway traffic for four hours.  

There were about 20 passengers on the Greyhound bus. The bus was disabled by a flat tire and waited two hours for a replacement.

Lewis told Chesterfield Patch that police had a heads-up from St. Charles County that there was a wrong-way car eastbound in the westbound lanes.

Watson's fatal ride ended in front of Chesterfield's Parks and Recreation administration building—at the ball fields/sports complex—about a mile west of Walmart.

There were some indications the teen got onto the wrong side of the highway as far out as Wing Haven, but as of Monday police were unable to say where he entered the highway or what occurred prior to him entering the highway.
