A resurfacing project on Suemandy Drive east of Mid Rivers Mall Drive to Veterans Memorial Parkway that was supposed to begin on Aug. 10 has been delayed because of equipment failure. The project will be rescheduled as soon as the equipment is repaired.

Earlier story:

The St. Peters Street Department has been busy this summer.

After Main Street, Ohmes Road, Mexico Road and Jungermann Road received road work, the road crews have moved on. Early Tuesday, St. Peters crews were on Suemandy Drive just east of Mid Rivers Mall Drive and in front of St. Louis Bread Company. Crews were beginning the process of stripping the road as part of a resurfacing project.

The project will put a new surface on Suemandy Drive east of Mid Rivers Mall Drive to Veterans Memorial Parkway. Work was underway Tuesday morning. Weather permitting, the project will be complete by Tuesday, Aug. 16.

The existing pavement on Suemandy will be removed first and is expected to take a few days. Paving operations will follow and are expected to take place Friday, Aug. 12, and Tuesday, Aug. 16.

Drivers can expect lanes closures during the project.

This paving project is part of the city of St. Peters’ annual street maintenance program.

Why don't we FINISH a project before beginning another? Old Town Main Street has been torn up for over a year, it is STILL unfinished (orange pylons along the side, center lines not painted, still lacking concrete/asphalt fill in in spots), it took almost TWO years to complete the Salt / Spencer Rd connection to Hwy 370. Why can't we "stay on task" before we redirect workers to other projects?
