Theaters
If you’re looking for a way to entertain the kids or keep someone out of the kitchen, you’ll be interested in knowing that most area theaters are open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, including the following:
- Stadium 18 Cine, St. Charles
- St. Andrews Cinema, St. Charles
- Town Square 12 Cine, O’Fallon
- Great Escape Theaters, O’Fallon
- Mid Rivers 14 Cine, St. Peters
Food and retail
If you need to buy toilet paper, an extra Christmas gift or a forgotten item for the family dinner, your best options will close by 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Still, hope won’t be lost on Christmas Day. A few options will be available for most must-have items.
- Twenty four-hour Walgreens stores and pharmacies will remain open around the clock, and other Walgreens stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Day.
- Family Dollar in St. Charles is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas Day.
- QuikTrip convenience stores will be open around the clock.
Dining Out
In case you aren’t in the mood to cook or you need a little nourishment between holiday visits, you’ve got several local options for sustenance on Christmas Day, including everything from fast food to Christmas buffets at the casino.
Starbucks
- St. Charles location—open 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- St. Peters location—open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- O’Fallon location on Highway K—open 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- O’Fallon location on Laura K Road—open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Lake Saint Louis location—open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Wentzville location—open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Landmark Buffet—$22.95 Christmas Day buffet from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Heritage Buffet—$23.99 Christmas Day buffet from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., including a Champagne brunch between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and a holiday buffet dinner from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Amerisports Bar & Grill—4 p.m. to midnight.
- Casino Bar Deli—Open 24 hours, not closing for Christmas.
All Denny’s, IHOP and White Castle locations will remain open.
