Traffic Update: Lane Closures Coming to Two Heavily-Trafficked St. Peters Roads Tuesday
Utility work on Mexico Road and Mid Rivers Mall Drive on Tuesday will force lanes to close.
Two busy St. Peters roadways will be a bit congested on Tuesday.
Single lanes on Mid Rivers Mall Drive and Mexico Road will be closed July 24 as crews do utility work. Drivers are encouraged to drive slowly through the work zones and use alternate routes if possible.
The city of St. Peters announced Monday that one southbound lane of Mid Rivers Mall Drive, just south of Grand Teton Drive, will be closed early Tuesday morning for utility work. The closure will take place in the area near DuBray Middle School.
CenturyTel needs to make an urgent utility repair, forcing the closure. The work is slated to start at 7 a.m.
The work is expected to last all day Tuesday. Crews will close the outside southbound lane to allow CenturyTel to gain access to a manhole. The work is expected to last one day.
The Laclede Gas Company will dig under Mexico Road, just west of Spencer Road, on Tuesday, July 24 to do some utility work. Crews will close the inside eastbound lane and the center turn lane during the work.
Once Laclede Gas is finished, a steel plate will be placed over the excated surface for a few days. The surface will be repaired a few days later, which will also require more lane closures.
