Update: St. Peters Police Identify Scrap Metal Theft Suspect

Police have identified an Orchard Farm resident as the suspect in a scrap metal theft.

 

A 52-year-old Orchard Farm man has been identified as the person in surveillance video relating to a auto parts theft

Police said the suspect admitted to being in the interview, but has not been arrested. The case has been sent to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for their review.

Previous story: 

St. Peters Police are looking for a man who stole vehicle parts from behind an Auto Body shop located on the first block of Algana Court. 

Surveillance video shows a white male subject stealing more than $2,000 worth of vehicle parts at 7pm on March 10.

Police obtained more surveillance photos of the suspect earlier in April when the man returned to remove more items from behind the same business.

The suspect is described as:

  • White male
  • 35 to 50 years old
  • Heavy build
  • Dark hair, with mustache 
  • Subject seen smoking a cigarette on surveillance video

Vehicle is described as:

  • Late model white truck with a camper shell
  • Chrome fuel cap on driver’s side of vehicle
  • Vehicle was seen pulling a large, open trailer with various scrap items
  • Truck has a running board on driver’s side of vehicle
