Visions for Vacancies: Part of the Promenade Plaza

What would you like to see in this vacant space?

Since this is your community, we want St. Peters Patch to be a place where you can not only find out what's going on around town, but a place where you can share your thoughts and ideas with your neighbors.

Our new feature "Visions for Vacancies" aims to help residents take an active role in planning and building their community. So each week, we'll highlight a vacant commercial area and ask: What would you like to see move into this area? If you know of an area you'd like to see highlighted, tell us in the comments.

This week, we are taking a look at a protion of the Promenade Plaza in the 7000 block of Mexico Road. This strip mall has been vacant for quite some time, although a bar did try to move in last year but it was shut down.

If it were up to you, what would you like to see there? What do you think would best serve the St. Peters community in that spot?

Another Chinese Buffet. They seem to be the business that lasts in St. Peters.

A used book store would be very cool Shannon! I'd also be on board with a casual up-scale bar -- nothing remotely close to a club or a place that stays open super late. Just a place where I can grab a few drinks with some friends.

A bar tried last year, Brian. Mid Rivers Elementary is really close (like 200 yards away) and the city turned it down. The owner moved to Cottleville instead. http://exit6brewery.com/

I and many other would love to see a WholeFoods store out here! My goodness why must we travel to Chesterfield when we have tons of space here to bring in WholeFoods?
