St. Charles County Woman Faces DWI Felony Charge in Chesterfield

A St. Charles County woman faces a felony driving while intoxicated charge after being pulled over on Interstate 64 at Boone's Crossing in Chesterfield.
Amanda N. Andrew, 31, of the 5400 block of Old Gutermuth Road in St. Charles County, was charged Tuesday with driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender. Andrew has two previous DWI convictions.
Chesterfield Police said Andrew was pulled over for driving 76 mph in a 60 mph zone at 3:56 a.m. Aug. 3 on I-64. When talking with Andrew, the officer reported he noticed a strong odor of alcohol and that she had watery and bloodshot eyes.
Andrew did poorly on a sobriety test and began hyperventilating, according to a report. An ambulance took her to an area hospital where she was treated and released. She then was arrested for DWI and took a Breathalyzer test. The test showed she had a blood-alcohol content of 0.204 percent, according to court documents.
Andrew previously was convicted for DWI in 2008 in St. Charles County and in 2007 in Chesterfield.
Bail was set at $7,500.

She certainly looks like she is sorry and she is taking this seriously. Can they give a copy of this mug shot to the judge? I guess after she kills somebody she will want the courts to feel sorry for her and let her off easy. Unreal. Seriously - What does it take to get the DWI frequent flyers off of our roads? Hopefully she will only kill herself next time, not some innocent family.

This kind of repeat offender never gets hurt themself. They only kill and put other people in wheelchairs. That is why we must get much tougher with first offenders. You have to put them on notice that this behavior will not be tollerated .
