Zumwalt South's Simon Heading to Truman State
Cate Simon will join the Bulldogs softball team.
Fort Zumwalt South softball player Cate Simon will remain a Bulldog in college.
Simon, an infielder for the Lady Bulldogs, has signed on to play softball for the Truman State University Bulldogs next year.
Last season Simon hit .476 with a team-high 30 RBIs. She also put up a .556 on base percentage and led Zumwalt South with three triples.
Truman softball coach Erin Brown offered glowing praise of Simon in a release on the Truman athletic website: "Cate is a very solid and well-rounded player," Brown said. "She’s strong and quick in the field. Cate has a good bat and can hit for power. She is definitely a gamer, and we can’t wait to see her in a Truman uniform.”
