$7.00
St. Charles Community College's Center Stage Theatre will present the musical “The Drowsy Chaperone,” July 27-31 in the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building theater on the SCC campus.
The show will be performed at 8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, July 27-30, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31. There will be a high school matinee performance at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 28.
This infectious musical-within-a-musical pays tribute to the jazz-age shows of the 1920s. It celebrates the power those shows had to transport audiences into a dazzling fantasy and lift spirits in times of sadness. When a die-hard musical fan plays his favorite cast album on his turntable (a 1928 smash hit called The Drowsy Chaperone), the show literally bursts to life in his living room. The audience is instantly immersed in the glamorous and hilarious tale of a celebrity bride and her uproarious wedding day.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and college students with ID. Tickets will be offered at a special reduced price of $4 for everyone on Wednesday, July 27. To purchase tickets, call the SCC Box Office at 636-922-8050. For additional information, visit www.stchas.edu/calendar. St. Charles Community College is located at 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville.
