Home Builders Association Donates $10,000 to Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County
On behalf of the Home Builders Charitable Foundation (HBCF), HBCF President Jim Brennan of McKelvey Homes (left) and 2014 HBA President Tim Martin of McKelvey Homes (right) presented a $10,000 donation to Lauren Grotegeers, resource development coordinator for Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County.
The donation will help cover the cost of the land purchase for Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County’s 19th home in a 20-home subdivision, the Enclaves at Eisenhower. This home also marks Habitat’s first Home Builders Blitz Build partnership with the Home Builders Association of St. Louis (HBA). The Home Builders Blitz Build is a program that helps Habitat affiliates form new partnerships with construction firms and suppliers. The Home Builders Blitz is a capacity-building opportunity that will allow Habitat to build one home without overextending its current structure and staff. Currently, Habitat and the HBA are working together to discuss potential builders and suppliers who can donate material, labor and volunteers for the home.
