370 Lakeside Park Remains Closed, Sunset Fridays Event Cancelled

Lakeside Park is also not the only park closed. Sports Center Park and the Great Rivers Greenway trails at Rabbit Run and 370 Lakeside Park remain closed.

Flooding threats will keep 370 Lakeside Park in St. Peters closed to the public for some time.

The city of St. Peters announced Monday that Lakeside Park will remain closed at least through next weekend. The closure marks the second time this year the park has been closed because of flooding threats. In May, a note was left for visitors informing them why the park was closed. The note said that while the park was not underwater, things were still shut down because the Mississippi River has flooded and was at the agricultural levee. The note said that if the levee breaks, Lakeside Park could flood with 16 feet of water.

With the current announced shutdown, the city also said the Sunset Fridays event scheduled to take place at the Gator Island Grill on Friday, June 7, featuring the Buckhannon Brothers is cancelled.  Plans are to reschedule the concert at a later date.

Lakeside Park is also not the only park closed. Sports Center Park and the Great Rivers Greenway trails at Rabbit Run and 370 Lakeside Park remain closed.

All these St. Peters parks and trails will be closed until the threat of flooding has ended.
