BJC Hospice Needs Volunteers

Learn about three ways to volunteer in the next few months.

BJC Hospice Program in St. Charles County needs volunteers to help patients and their families while in hospice. There are a number of volunteer opportunities including serving as a caregiver relief or patient visitor, a nursing home visitor, a hospital patient visitor, sitting with non communicative patients, offering spiritual support, reading to patients, tutoring families, helping patients write their life stories or create art to leave with families as keepsakes.

Volunteers can also help with videography, driving patients on outings, helping with yard work, cooking, providing basic housekeeping, and running errands. Learn more.

O’Fallon is encouraging families, individuals, and organizations to participate in Mission Clean Streams April 6 from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will help clean up litter and debris from local creeks before it has a chance to move downstream. Volunteers will also install anti-pollution markers to stormwater drains and distribute educational fliers. Pre-registration is required by April 1, tshirts will be provided to volunteers on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign up here.
