Fill Baskets for Hospitalized Children

Three ways to give back to your community.

Fill gift baskets for children. 

Volunteers will fill more than 1,000 baskets and totes to be given to hospitalized children and their families from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 25 at Fontbonne University and from 9 a.m. to noon April 6 at Concordia publishing house. The baskets are filled with toys, games, craft items and books. Register here. Fee of $25 for adults will help purchase toys for the baskets. 

Play Chess with Kids

The Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition needs volunteers to play chess with foster or adopted children from noon to 1:30 p.m. March 23. Volunteers are also welcome to attend the chess instruction from 11 a.m. to noon from the Chess Club and Scholastic Center. Volunteers need not be chess experts, but shoudl know how to play and be willing to give coaching as they play their first game. The event will be in Florissant.

Help with Easter Egg Hunt

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is looking for volunteers to help at a community egg hunt. Help with registration, supervise on the bunny trail or help with set up and tear down. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Forest Park. Learn more here.
