St. Peters Ceremony Honors All Veterans

Capt. Robert Karle Panke will be the main speaker at the St. Peters Veterans Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday at the city’s Veterans Memorial in front of

Panke is a Vietnam veteran and is retired from the U.S. Air Force.

"He flew the F-4 for over 300 combat missions during the Vietnam War," said Bill Rupp, advisor to the St. Peters Veterans Commission. "He's a heck of a guy and a great pilot."

Panke also owns VSP Construction based in St. Peters.

Greg and Jamie Hitt, of Hitt Music Group, will sing the National Anthem and other patriotic songs.

"I heard Jamie singing at a Boeing event, and now I have them perform at all our events whenever I can," said Rupp, a World War II veteran.

Several military organizations will be involved in the ceremony, representing each service branch.

The event is hosted by the St. Peters Veterans Memorial Commission. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held indoors.
