Appraisal Fair Comes to St. Peters

This Sunday the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre will give residents a chance to see just how much old items are worth.

The old saying states that one man's trash may be another man's treasure. This weekend, St. Peters if offering a chance to find out just how much that trash is actually is worth.

This Sunday the Cultural Arts Centre at St. Peters will be the site of an appraisal fair. The St. Peters Parks, Recreation and Arts Advisory Board will once again host the That Old Thing Appraisal Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Residents from all around the St. Peters area can bring up to two items for a free appraisal. Professional appraisers from Appraisal Affiliates, Inc. will be handling the appraising.

The appraisers will examine everything from old toys, toys, trains, political items, military items, old photographs and postcards, old pottery and glassware, antique books, sterling silver, American Indian items, coins, old sports and sporting items, documents, famous autographs, old paintings, and costume and fine jewelry. Items that are too big to carry and firearms are not allowed.

Board of Aldermen member Gus Elliott, Ward 3, mentioned this event at the meeting and said it was a great time but cautioned against bringing any Richard Nixon memorabilia. He said he was told it’s worthless.

The appraisal fair is open to everyone, however St. Peters’ residents who bring their Resident Privilege Card will receive priority tickets when the doors open.
