Kids Discover Action Painting in St. Peters Art Experience Camp

Action Painting; a style of abstract expressionism, is one of Art Experience camps being offered at the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre. The class runs from June 18 to June 22.

Action Painting is a technique where paint is spontaneously dribbled, splashed and smeared onto canvas or paper. Emphasis on this style of work is placed more of the act of painting as opposed to the finished piece of art.

Action Painting classes fall into three categories. The first is a preschool camp for kids ages 4 and 5. That class runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and is $37 for residents and $42 for non-residents. The half-day camp, for kids ages 6 to 9, runs from 9 a.m. to noon and costs $65 for St. Peters residents and $75 for non-residents. The full-day camp for kids ages 6-9 and 10 and up goes from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. That camp costs $110 for St. Peters residents and $120 for non-residents.

Sculpture Camp sounds like a lot of fun ... as long as you're not like me. I can't build anything with my hands. Still, sounds like a cool opportunity for kids.
