Chick-Fil-A in St. Peters Busy on 'Appreciation Day'

The parking lot and drive-thru lanes were full past the lunch hour.

The Chick-fil-A at 6180 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters was packed on Wednesday afternoon.

The parking lot was full and overflowing into the lot. Just after 3:30 p.m. the lines were long inside the restuarant and dine-in customers filled the seating area. The drive-through area wasn't less congested. The line wound around the restaurant's parking lot.

"Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" on Aug. 1 was an event launched by Mike Huckabee, a FOX News commentator and 2008 Republican presidential hopeful.

The event has tens of thousands of RSVPs on its Facebook site.

The recent controversy over gay marriage for the chain restaurants came about after a published interview by the company's CEO Dan Cathy, son of the chain's founder. Reportedly, he said: "I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage'."

Do you agree with Chick-fil-A's stance, or would you protest the chain? We'd love to hear from you in the comments.

My wife and I went for a late lunch and found everything very crowded at, 1:30 I was very impressed that all the help had a smile on their face even with the humongous crowd that was there, all the customers had a smile on their face, one woman was even returning all the condiments that were unused by her goup to the stand. It was a very uplifting experience. I guess that's kind of a weird statement for lunch at a fast food place, but it's the truth.

Many "Xtians" seek to have forgotten that little line about "whitened sepulchres"... I wonder who made it?
