Pretzel Stop to Move to Jungermann Road

Drive-through restaurant will move to new space that will offer a small dining room, longer hours.

The Pretzel Stop is moving its small, drive through operation from Ford Lane in St. Charles to a space three times as big off of Jungermann Road in St. Peters.

Manager Jessica Iasello said the move will give them more space to add new items to the menu and give employees a little elbow room.

At 785 square feet, their current shop at 1721 Ford Lane is a tight fit. The shop will move to a new location at 1650 Jungermann Road—formerly a Long John Silvers and A & W Rootbeer restaurant—sometime at the end of December or early January.

"Where we're at is just a drive through," Jessica Iasello said. "We're going to have a little bit of an eat-in at the new location."

In addition, they plan to start doing more bulk orders. Creating custom shapes and party platters is a significant portion of their business.

"We've done Dr. Who characters, whatever someone is looking for, we test out," Jessica said, as she designed a gingerbread man for a custom order.

Pretzel Stop is a family-owned enterprise started by Jessica Iasello's parents, Tony and Ann Iasello. Jessica Iasello said the family is from the East Coast and when they arrived in the midwest couldn't find any pretzels that tasted like home.

After several years of making pretzels for events, they decided to open the shop.

Today, they offer soups with a pretzel to dip in it, pretzel burgers, and a peppermint prezzoli—which is their take on a cannoli.

The new location will bring more space to offer breakfast items, Jessica said.

They hope to open the new location well before the Super Bowl on Feb. 8. To get updates on construction progress, follow their Facebook page
