St. Peters Menards Picks April 9 for Opening Day

The new Menards will be the first in store in the St. Louis area to open.

When Menards first came to St. Peters to begin the process of opening a store, the store targeted a spring 2013 opening. Menards made it official that the store would open on time.

The new hardware store on Spencer Road is set to open bright and early at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 9. Menards will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday to Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The St. Peters store is the first Menards store to open on the Missouri side of the Mississippi River in the St. Louis area. The other store in the region, in O'Fallon, Ill., will open the same day.

The national chain has five Missouri stores located two to three hours from St. Louis and six Illinois stores located about two hours away.

"These stores were seeing more and more business from St. Louis-area zip codes, therefore we wanted to provide more access and better shopping convenience for the good folks of the St. Louis-metro area,” Abbott said in an email.
