Bartending Challenge Set for July 14

The ninth annual Big Kahuna Bartender Challenge will take place Thursday night at two St. Charles County bars.

A benefit for Community Living, Inc. pits two teams of celebrity bartenders against each other. Bartenders will be at in St. Peters and Side Pockets in St. Charles. All tips, and the $5 cover charge, will benefit Community Living's programs and services for people with disabilities in St. Charles County.

The event takes place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on July 14. 

Celebrity bartenders included Dave Glover and Tom Terbrock from FM NewsTalk 97.1, Rick Wallace and Van Lorenz from 106.5 The Arch, Brad Hildebrand from KSLQ-FM and former NFL offensive lineman Keith Wortman, who played with the St. Louis Cardinals from 1976-1981. Volunteer bartenders from St. Charles County; representatives of Community Living, Inc. and local residents will also be behind the bar.

Bartenders will compete head-to-head in a battle to raise the most money for Community Living, Inc. The team that raises the most money at each location will also go home with the coveted 2011 "Big Kahuna" title.

Throughout the evening, those in attendance will also have the chance to mix and mingle with a variety of local celebrities. Dave Glover and Tom Terbrock from FM NewsTalk 97.1 and Brad Hildebrand from KSLQ-FM will be on hand at Side Pockets, while Rick Wallace & Van Lorenz from 106.5 The Arch and former St. Louis Cardinals offensive lineman Keith Wortman will entertain crowds at Binford's Bar & Grill.
