Blue-Ribbon Babies at the County Fair

Blue-Ribbon Babies at the County Fair

Saturday morning's baby contest at the St. Charles County Fair drew a huge crowd to Rotary Park. 92 babies were entered in the event.

The contest was open to residents of St. Charles County. Babies were required to wear a white onesie or white t-shirt and diaper only, and were judged on a 1-5 scale for personality, alertness and cuteness. The event offered four divisions:

  • Birth to 3 months. Winners: Lucy from St. Paul and Nicholas from Foristell
  • 4 months to 8 months. Winners: Charley from Wentzville and Mason from Wentzville
  • 9 months to 15 months. Winners: Logan from Wentzville and Blaine from O'Fallon
  • 16 months to 24 months. Winners: Laurie from O'Fallon and Cole from St. Charles

An additional division for twins was canceled for lack of entries.

The event was sponsored by Goddard School and hosted by Rose Lambi. "Every child gets a ribbon," Lambi said. "Every child in this event is a winner."

Mayor Paul Lambi was one of the judges. "I like to be supportive of the fair and the families who bring their kids out. It's a fun time. All the babies are cute and have the best personalities—at one time or another."

Tina Belt's four-month-old son Mason won his division. "I just thought it would be a good experience for him," Belt said. "My entire family wanted me to enter him."

Patch got lots of great pictures, but we were only able to identify a few of the babies during this fast-paced event. Can you help? We'd like to post the babies' first names and where they are from. Let us know in the comments if you can help!
