Celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day With Local Churches

"Patch" rounds up local Christmas Eve and Christmas Day church services and events in St. Charles, St. Peters, O'Fallon, Wentzville and Lake Saint Louis.

St. Peters Churches

  • Christmas Eve Service will be at 7 p.m., and child care will be provided.
  • Christmas Day Worship will be at 10:30 a.m. Nursery services and children’s programming will be provided.

  • At 7 p.m. Thursday, Church on the Rock will hold a Christmas cookie decorating event. members will deliver the cookies to local police, fire departments, hospitals and other locations on Christmas Eve. Sign up at the church’s lobby kiosks or online. For more information, contact Mari at the church office at mespinoza@cotr.org.
  • The church will continue its Live Nativity on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Church member Lisa Nikole and photographer recently blogged about what the Live Nativity is like, including plenty of photos.  
  • Christmas Eve service will be at 6 p.m.
  • Christmas Day services will be at 9 and 11 a.m.

  • Christmas Eve service will be at 5 p.m.
  • Christmas morning worship will be at 10:30 a.m.

St. Charles Churches

  • Christmas Eve vigil masses will be held at 5 and 11 p.m.
  • Christmas Day masses will be held at 6:30, 8, 9:45 and 11:30 a.m.
  • There will be no regular confession times on Christmas Eve.

, St. Charles

  • Chrismas Eve services will be at 3, 4:30 and 6:15 p.m.
  • Christmas Day services will be at 9:20 and 11 a.m.

, St. Charles

  • Christmas Eve service will be at 5 p.m. This service will celebrate the church’s 175th anniversary with a Victorian Christmas theme. Expect carols, communion, vignettes and tableaux.
  • Christmas Eve service will be at 10:30 p.m. and include carol singing.
  • Christmas Eve service will be at 11 p.m. to celebrate the Festival Holy Eucharist.
  • Christmas Day service will be at 11 a.m. Please note that there is only one service on Christmas Day. 

  • Christmas Eve Service will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
  • Christmas Day Service will be at 10 a.m. Please note that there is only one combined worship service on Christmas Day.

United Methodist Church of the Shepherd

  • United Methodist Church of the Shepherd will present "Letters to Baby Jesus," a special children's service at 2 p.m. Christmas Eve.
  • Christmas service will be at 7 p.m. Friday.
  • Christmas Eve services will be at 4, 5:30, 7:30 and 11 p.m.
  • You can also attend the 4, 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Christmas Eve services online if you can’t make it in person. To attend online, visit the church’s homepage at www.coswired.org.
  • Christmas Day service will be at 10 a.m. There will not be an online stream for this service.

O’Fallon Churches

  • Christmas Eve services will be at 4 p.m. (in the Motherhouse Chapel) and at 6 and 10 p.m. in the church.
  • Christmas Day services will be at 8 and 10 a.m. and noon.

  • Christmas Eve service will be held at 5 p.m. and Christmas Day service will be at 10 a.m.
  • These will be identical services with nursery, toddler and preschool care provided.

  • At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sunrise will hold a special Christmas program and worship service featuring the children’s choir singing Christmas songs. The adult choir and Drama Team will present the cantata, “Mary Did You Know?” Join church members for refreshments after the program.
  • Christmas Eve services will be at 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 p.m. at Sunrise.
  • Two special Christmas Eve services will be at 10:15 a.m. at Delmar Gardens and 4 p.m. at Delmar Villas.
  • Christmas Day service will be held at 9:30 a.m.
  • Sunrise will hold a Christmas Day lunch starting at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Lunch will be served, and the church will offer fun activities for the whole family. RSVP by calling 636-978-2727 or emaileblue@sunrisefamily.org.

  • Christmas Eve candlelight service will be at 5 p.m. 
    Christmas Day Sunday school and morning worship service will be at 10:45 a.m.

  • Christmas Eve worship with communion will be held at 3, 5 and 11 p.m.
  • Christmas Day worship with communion will be at 9:30 a.m.

Wentzville Churches

  • Christmas Eve Masses will be at 4 and 9 p.m.
  • Christmas Day masses will be at 7, 9 and 11 p.m.

  • Christmas Eve services will be at 4 and 7 p.m.
  • Christmas Day services at will be 8 (traditional worship) and 10:45 a.m. (connection service).
  • Christmas Day adult, junior high and senior high Bible classes will be at 9:30 a.m.

  • Christmas Eve service will be at 6 p.m.
  • Christmas Day service will be at 10:30 a.m. 
  • These two services will be identical. 

  • Christmas Eve family service will be at 5 p.m.
  • Christmas Eve service will be in the sanctuary at 7 p.m.
  • Combined Christmas and New Year's Day worship will be at 10 a.m. on Christmas Day.

  • Christmas Eve service will be at 5 p.m.
  • On Christmas Day, River Oaks Church will hold a special Roots youth service at Pastor Brandon’s home, located at 1333 Hepperman Rd.
  • Youth from sixth to 12th grades are welcome to come and join in discipleship on Christmas Day.

  • Christmas Eve service will be held at 4 p.m. at the Parish Center featuring the children’s choir.
  • Christmas Eve midnight mass in the church will feature the adult choir.
  • Christmas Day mass at 9 a.m. will be in the church.

Lake Saint Louis Churches

  • Christmas services will be at at 5:30, 7 and 9 p.m. Friday.
  • Christmas Eve services will be at 1, 2:30, 4 and 5:30 p.m.
  • There will be no Christmas Day services.

  • Christmas Eve service will be at 5:30 p.m.
  • Christmas Day services will be at 8:30 and 11 a.m.

  • Celebratory Christmas Eve worship service will be at 5 p.m., featuring special music and communion.
  • Christmas Day service will be at 10:15 a.m. and feature Christmas carols and communion.
  • Both services are open to all Christians.

  • On Wednesday, First Baptist will hold a churchwide caroling event. Participants should meet at the church. They will divide into groups and go caroling, then return to the church for refreshments. Call the church at 636-561-8476 for details.
  • Christmas Eve service will be at 5 p.m.
