in Wentzville hosted the St. Charles County Fair antique tractor pull on Tuesday night. Tractors ranged from antiques to souped up models with chrome wheels and paint jobs that the NASCAR circuit would be proud of.
Youngsters took the wheel in the Class 1 division which featured eight horsepower lawn tractors with a 900-pound weight limit. These machines did not lack flair or power and made their way down the track lined with cheering parents and spectators.
The antique division proved that chrome pipes, fancy paint and chrome wheels were not needed as most sported rust from the last century. These tractors, some from the 1930s, retained the enormous power they were known for and pulled from one end of the track to the other.
