Lane, Ramp Closures Scheduled for Interstate 70

' commuters should be avised: Road work is coming to Intersate 70 in the next two months. 

Repairs to the I-70 bridge over the Earth City Expressway will impact traffic two weekends in June and one in July, weather permitting.  Two lanes will be closed on I-70 and various ramps will be closed. Along with the lane closuers, the remaining open lanes will be narrowed and the speed limit will be reduced.

The repairs to the I-70 bridge are part of the Missouri Department of Transportation's contract for work .

The bridge will close at approximately 7 p.m. on Friday and re-open at 5 a.m. on Monday for each of the following weekends:

• June 22 to 24: Two lanes of eastbound I-70 will be closed. The eastbound I-70 exit to Earth City north and the ramp from Earth City south to eastbound I-70 will also be shut down. The weekend includes a concert at  on Friday feature REO Speedwagon, Styx and Ted Nugent.

• June 29 to July 1: Two lanes of westbound I-70 will close, as well as the westbound I-70 exit to Earth City south and the ramp from Earth City north to westbound I-70.  The weekend includes a Verizon Amphitheatre concert on Friday with Lady Antebellum.

• July 20 to 22: Two lanes will be closed in each direction on I-70, and all of the cloverleaf ramps at the interchange will be closed. The ramps include the following:  eastbound I-70 exit to Earth City north, westbound I-70 exit to Earth City south, on ramp from Earth City south to eastbound I-70, and on ramp from Earth City north to westbound I-70. This weekend has concert at the Verizon Amphitheatre on Friday with Rockstar Energy Mayhem.

MoDOT is coordinating with local law enforcement and Verizon to assist in directing traffic exiting the concert. All ramps to get to the concert will remain open until 30 minutes after the official concert start time. 

Motorists attending the concerts or other activities and businesses along Earth City Expressway are encouraged to use Route 370 or Route 364 (Page Avenue) to access the area.
