Last Chance: Clean Stream Registration Closing, Outdoor Swimming Opening

Deadlines are a part of life. Sometimes they sneak up on you and sometimes they just pass you by—that's where we come in.

This is the Last Chance, a weekly reminder of deadlines that are coming up around St. Peters. We'll remind you of important dates so you don't forgot. 

This week: Clean Stream Day and Outdoor Swimming. 

St. Peters Clean Stream Day

The city of St. Peters is organizing a Clean Stream Day event on Saturday, April 14. You, your family or your organization can help! Volunteers will meet at City Hall at8 a.m. to check in and enjoy free donuts, coffee and juice, then transport themselves to a creek segment to clean up trash. We will return to the parking lot at 11:30a.m. for a free hot dog lunch, giveaways, and displays. You could also volunteer to help with checking in (7:30-9:30 a.m.) and serving lunch (10 a.m.-noon). Outdoor Swim Season Beginning Soon

Registration for the outdoor pool season in St. Peters kicks off April 14 at the . 

Swim teams will be forming for kids ages 6-18 in St. Peters. Teams are available for all three outdoor pools—, and . Teams will compete in weekly meets against other teams in the St. Charles County Summer Swim League.

St. Peters residents can begin signing up at 8 a.m. on the first day of registration. Non-residents who are returning from a 2011 swim team may sign up after 9 a.m. Other non-returning swimmers may register between 10 a.m. to noon. Registration continues until teams are full.

Team representatives will be available to meet with parents and swimmers on the first day of registration.

Normal registration hours continue after April 14. The St. Peters Rec-Plex registration desk is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Outdoor swim team fees for St. Peters residents are: $73 for the first child, $60.50 for the second child, and $55 for each additional child. Fees for non-residents are: $85 for the first child, $73 for the second child and $66 for each additional child. Extra fees may apply for specific teams. St. Peters residents must present a valid Resident Privilege Card in order to receive resident rates.

Parent volunteers are required to participate. No experience is necessary.
