Because of the work, various lane closures will be needed during daytime hours to accommodate construction work. All lanes are expected to reopen during overnight hours.

Drivers are asked to drive carefully through the work zone, and, if possible, seek alternate routes during construction.

Expected to be complete in the spring, the Mexico Road Widening project will widen Mexico from four lanes to five lanes between Cross Trail Lane (just west of Grand Teton Drive) and McGavock Drive () and resurface the road in this area. The project will also extend Dubray Drive, located in Bellemeade subdivision, to Mexico Road and construct a new traffic signal at this intersection.
