Mexico Road Work Begins Monday

Mexico Road from Grand Teton Drive to Spencer Road will be repaved. Also starting Monday, several roads will get a fresh coat of paint to make the striping more visible.

A frequently-traveled portion of Mexico Road is due for some resurfacing beginning on April 9.

Mexico Road, between Grand Teton Drive and Spencer Road, will be resurfaced from April 9 to April 13, weather permitting. City crews will do the work during daytime hours.

When crews are out, drivers can expect daily lanes closures and travel delays while the surface of Mexico Road is removed and a new asphalt surface is placed. Drivers should seek alternate routes when possible. Drivers are, as always, encouraged to drive carefully through construction zones.

Work crews are expected to begin re-painting lane lines and intersection markings beginning Monday, April 9, as long as the weather permits.

Crews will start on main roads like Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Jungermann Road and Mexico Road. The pavement marking operations will primarily take place on busier roads that act as main arteries for traffic and collector roads through neighborhoods. Once the main roads have a fresh coat of paint, crews will move to the smaller roads.

The street pavement marking is expected to be complete in about two weeks.

Drivers are asked to be patient, avoid crossing freshly painted lines marked with traffic cones and drive carefully in areas where painting is underway.
