Mid Rivers Mall Drive Road Project Continues With Diamond-Grinding

Lane closures will begin Friday as the St. Peters road will be worked on to create a smoother surface.

The continues this Friday when city crews begins the process of diamond-grinding the road.

Weather permitting, diamond grinding on Mid Rivers Mall Drive from Interstate 70 to McMenamy Road will begin on Friday. Work will also continue on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. 

Diamond-grinding will give the concrete road a smoother surface.

As usual with road work, drivers should expect some lane closures and traffic delays during this roadwork. Drivers are urged to proceed carefully through the construction zone and to seek alternate routes when possible to avoid delays.

Alternate routes to businesses along Mid Rivers Mall Drive include South Church Street to McMenamy Road, Grand Teton Drive to Suemandy Drive, and Veterans Memorial Parkway to the north entrance to Mid Rivers Mall.

Asphalt paving work on Mid Rivers Mall Drive from McMenamy to Mexico Road was completed earlier this week, and all road lanes in that area are open to traffic.

The Mid Rivers Mall Drive Resurfacing Project is removing damaged concrete pavement, curb and gutter, and sidewalk sections, adding and upgrading sidewalk accessible ramps, diamond-grinding new and existing concrete pavement, and resurfacing existing asphalt pavement. In addition to pavement and sidewalk repairs, the traffic signals at the Mid Rivers Mall Drive intersections of Suemandy Drive, Mid Rivers Plaza commercial entrance, and McMenamy Drive will be replaced.
