Mid Rivers Mall Drive Road Work Continues Tuesday Night

Work on Mid Rivers Mall Drive starts on southbound lanes starting tonight.

The Mid Rivers Mall Drive resurfacing project rolls on in St. Peters. 

Following the long Labor Day weekend, workers will be at on the heavily-traveled road. Starting Tuesday night, work will begin on southbound lanes. 

Drivers can expect lane closures on southbound Mid Rivers Mall Drive from Veterans Memorial Parkway to McMenamy Road. Lane closures are needed for concrete replacement work as the continues.

As has been the case with much of the project, construction activity will take place on the southbound lanes overnight. Crews will begin work at 8 p.m. and finish at 6 a.m. the following morning. Work starts tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 6. Some lane closures are expected to continue through daytime hours to allow new concrete to cure. Various lane closures are expected through Saturday morning, Sept. 10, weather permitting.

With the amount of work being done, drivers are urged to seek alternate routes when possible to avoid delays. In particular, drivers exiting Interstate 70 for southbound Mid Rivers Mall Drive can expect delays—especially during the evening rush hour.

Alternate routes to businesses along Mid Rivers Mall Drive include South Church Street to McMenamy Road, Grand Teton Drive to Suemandy Drive, and Veterans Memorial Parkway to the north entrance to Mid Rivers Mall. 

On northbound Mid Rivers Mall Drive, all concrete replacement work is complete, except on some turn lanes. 

The Mid Rivers Mall Drive Resurfacing project is taking place between Mexico Road and Veterans Memorial Parkway. The resurfacing project is removing damaged concrete pavement, curb and gutter, and sidewalk sections, adding and upgrading sidewalk accessible ramps, diamond-grinding new and existing concrete pavement, and resurfacing existing asphalt pavement. In addition to pavement and sidewalk repairs, the traffic signals at the Mid Rivers Mall Drive intersections of Suemandy Drive, Mid Rivers Plaza commercial entrance, and McMenamy Drive will be replaced.
