Publication of Sunday 'Suburban Journals' to End

'Journals' is moving to increase online news.

The Suburban Journals announced last week that it is cutting back on its print publications, including discontinuing the Sunday St. Charles County edition.

The change, expected to take place this week, will be part of a move to expand the digital coverage of the Journals. A press release stated that the change will allow the Journals to update information online in its neighborhood sections.

According to the St. Louis Business Journal, the move includes the elimination of 20 jobs. The Journals' owner, Lee Enterprises, previously announced several layoffs in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch newsroom.

The Wednesday print edition of the Journals will still be published.
