Sleeping Driver Hits St. Peters Man's Car

Jacob Madden's truck was struck by a sleeping driver Friday morning.

A St. Peters man was injured after his car was struck by a sleeping driver early Friday morning. 

Just after 6 a.m., Jacob Madden, 24, was parked on the right shoulder on New Missouri 21 at the Shady Valley Interchange. While stationary, Madden's 2004 Ford F150 was sideswiped by a second car, a 2003 Mazda Tribute. 

According the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the driver of the second car, 42-year-old Jodi Harsh, of Arnold, had fallen asleep while driving.

Madden, who was not wearing a safety device, was taken to St. Anthony's Hospital with minor injuries. His vehicle also sustained minor damage.

Harsh was uninjured in the crash. Her vehicle, however, had extensive damage.
