Spencer Road Library Hosting Sneak Peak Event

The St. Charles City-County Library Foundation is hosting a fundraising event that will also double as preview event scheduled for March 1.

The Spencer Road Library is nearly open, but those who just can't wait for the official opening day can get a sneak preview in March.

The St. Charles City-County Library Foundation is hosting a fundraising event that will also double as preview event. Scheduled for March 1, although the date is subject to changed based on occupancy permit clearance, the Foundation plans to open the doors to up to 200 supporters before the building is open to the public.

Tickets to the event are $50 and are available online. Guests will get to experience the new facility with drinks, hors d'oeuvres and desserts from local vendors, along with a chance to win raffle items including a Kindle Fire and iPod Touch.

Additionally there will be a short program recognizing some of the major gifts to the (re)Discover Your Library capital campaign. Significant contributions from organizations such as Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, Progress West Health Center, Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, Charter Communications, Praxair Foundation, and the Friends of the Library helped the Foundation raise over $500,000 in support of the new Spencer Road Library.

After the Spencer Road branch opens and has been operating for a few weeks, a public celebration of the new library is planned during the month of April.
