St. Peters Gurdwara Plans Wednesday Vigil

A vigil will take place Wednesday night at the  in St. Peters in remembrance of . 

Sikhs across the country have scheduled vigils  in response to the shootings that left six members dead. Organizers in  will open the doors at 7 p.m . on Wednesday at the Gurdwara located at 116 Willis Road. 

Vigil organizers stressed the event was open to the public and everyone, Sikh or not, is welcome to attend. Kanwal Seehra, a local Sikh woman who helps to run the Sikh Gurudwara St. Louis, said the more who show up, the better.

Seehra said the event in St. Peters is not just a candlelight vigil. She said cooking would take place. During the Milwaukee shootings, several women and some children were cooking  when the shootings happened and remained safe while hiding in the pantry.
