St. Peters Man Dies in Traffic Incident in Pike County

Joey S. Baker was involved in a one-car accident on Saturday.

St. Peters resident Joey S. Baker, 24, died after being involved in a one-car incident early Saturday. 

The incident took place at 3:40 a.m. on March 3, in Pike County, MO. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Baker was driving a westbound 1998 Monte Carlo on Business 54 222 feet east of U.S. 54. The Hannibal Courier-Post reports that officers said the car was traveling too fast for the curved roadway and crossed the center line. Baker lost control of the car, and it went off the left side of the road. It went down an embankment and overturned, ejecting the driver.

Pike County Coroner Jim Turner pronounced Baker dead at the scene at 4:10 a.m.
