St. Peters Remembers Fallen Soliders at Somber Memorial Day Ceremony

Dozens gathered at City Hall in St. Peters to remember those who died fighting for the United States of America.

Suspended between two trucks, the giant United States of America flag whipped in the wind early Monday morning.

Beneath the large flag, veterans and members of the city of St. Peters government hosted a ceremony to honor Memorial Day. The parking lot at city hall was packed with those wanting to pay respects to the soldiers who had given the ultimate sacrifice.

St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano, himself a veteran of both the Army and Navy, talked about the importance of the Veterans Memorial at City Hall. He said he often sees people come by during the day for a quiet moment of reflection as a way to thank those who have passed away.
