The Daily Dose: Happy Leap Day Edition

The Daily Dose is a look at the weather, what you may have missed and what's coming up on St. Peters Patch. This is the Feb. 29, 2012 edition.

Don't be confused, today is the bonus day of 2012.

Every four years we get three things: Summer Olympics, leap day and a presidential election. Today is the leap day.

Growing up, I just thought the leap day was to fix the fact that a day was only 23 hours and change and that, every four years, the change added up to an extra day. I was not quite wrote. Check out the video at the top of this page. Leap day is actually extremely complicated, and kind of interesting if you're a nerd like me.
