The Daily Dose: The Beginning of 2012 Edition

While Fort Zumwalt and Francis Howell are still off of school for Winter Break, most of the working world returns to work for the first time in 2012.

I always loathed the first day of the new year as a kid, mostly because I would constantly get the date wrong since I'd always forget to change the year. However there's a good sign this year. I wrote out my rent check and got the year right—things are looking up this year. 

This year should be nice and special. As my dad would say, it's a triple threat year. In 2012 we'll have a Presidential Election, the Summer Olympics and it's a leap year. 

Last year was fun, but it's time to move forward. Let's get to 2012 and let's get to the first Daily Dose of the year.

The Forecast

Here's the St. Peters weather outlook for today and Tuesday from the National Weather Service. 

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 33. Breezy, with a northwest wind between 20 and 26 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. 

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 15. Northwest wind between 14 and 17 mph becoming light. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 35. Calm wind becoming south between 5 and 8 mph. 

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 27. Southeast wind 8 to 11 mph becoming southwest.
