I sincerely hope that everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day away from school and work. However, I hope that you take the time to remember just why you're not working while waiting to eat some delicious barbecue. 

Memorial Day is about remembering those who have served this country. Take a few seconds and think about what they did for you—for us. If you know a veteran, thank them. It is literally the least you can do.

Trash service in St. Peters is being delayed a day because of the holiday. If you have Monday trash service, you'll now have Tuesday trash service. Tuesday trash moves to Wednesday. Normal service will resume next week.

Here's the weather outlook for today and Tuesday from the National Weather Service

Memorial Day: Sunny, with a high near 94. South wind between 10 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. 

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 71. South wind between 9 and 15 mph. 

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. South wind between 10 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. 

Tuesday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Southwest wind at 7 mph becoming north.
