Here's a look at this week's Traffic Troublemakers and the latest road closures and construction projects in the area.

What's even more maddening than road closures and construction that slow you down? Inconsiderate, irresponsible drivers that make you just shake your head in disbelief. Each week on Patch, we'll highlight some of these Traffic Troublemakers, plus give you a look at what to expect on the roads courtesy of the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Affton Patch reported on a motorist who backed up at full speed into the brick wall of a chiropractor's office on Lindbergh Boulevard. Nice one.

"I was getting on 270 from Watson, right where it connects to 44 and 270, and once you're on 270 you have to get over about three lanes pretty quick because they run out one by one. Well this particular guy just figures he'd race all the other cars to try to cut in front of them before the lane runs out, making everyone slam onto their breaks because he cuts off a line of cars while straddling the line and the shoulder."

I-64 Ramp Closed Downtown Midday Weekdays

In downtown St. Louis, both lanes on the eastbound I-64 exit ramp at Chestnut/20th Street will be closed weekdays from 9:30 a.m., to 4:30 p.m., while crews perform maintenance repairs. During non-peak travel times, there will be one lane open on the Chestnut exit ramp.

I-64 East Closed at Jefferson Saturday

All lanes of eastbound I-64 from Jefferson to 6th Street will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday until 8 p.m. Saturday.

Lanes Closed on I-44 at Jamieson This Weekend

Two of four lanes will be closed on eastbound and westbound I-44 at Jamieson starting at 7 p.m. Friday as part of the ongoing Jamieson bridge work. The lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.

Lanes Closures on I-270

Two of four lanes of westbound I-270 between I-170 and Lindbergh Boulevard will be closed over the weekend for bridge repairs. The closures begin at 8:30 p.m. Friday and all lanes are expected to reopen by 7 a.m. Sunday.

Pavement repairs will also occur weeknights on both northbound and southbound I-270 in West County.

On northbound I-270 between Manchester and Ladue, up to three lanes will close on Friday beginning at 7 p.m., and the work is expected to end by 5 a.m.

On southbound I-270 from Clayton to Dougherty Ferry, up to three lanes will be closed Monday and Tuesday starting at 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

In Case You Forgot...

  • The right lane on eastbound I-70 closed from St. Louis Avenue to Broadway until summer 2012.
  • Jamieson bridge closed over I-44.
  • The eastbound 11th Street exit ramp of I-64 closed weekdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Express lanes on I-70 in St. Louis City are closed until mid-December.
  • I-70, St. Louis City, the ramp from eastbound I-70 to 10th Street closes permanently October 10.
  • Grand Blvd, St. Louis City, closed from I-64 to Chouteau by St. Louis City until mid 2012.
  • Ladue Road (Route AB) closed east of Route 141 until mid-November.
  • I-255 northbound right lane and shoulder closed until late December 2011.
