Plans for Proposed Cell Phone Tower at Anthony's Produce Put on Hold

  • A fake 90-foot-tall tree cell phone tower nearAnthony's Produce won't be going up any time soon. St. Charles Tower, Inc. presented plans to build a tower on Jungermann Road near the Williott Road intersection during Wednesday's meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission. The plan, however, didn't gain much traction as St. Charles Tower decided to come back next month so it can consider alternative locations. 

Recommended Truck Bid Nearly $5K Over Budget

  • St. Peters knows what it wants from its trash trucks: Thick steel. Bids went out in January to replace a 13-year-old truck and the city received seven different bids from five vendors. Health and Environmental Services Manager Dave Kuppler requested the board approve Armor Equipment's $244,868 bid—a bid he called the the lowest qualifiying bid even though it was $4,868 over budget. 

Winning Million Dollar Lottery Ticket Sold in St. Peters

  • A winning lottery ticket worth more than $1 million was sold in St. Peters. For the second time in a week, the Missouri Lottery has another winner in the St. Louis area. This time the winner purchased the ticket in St. Peters. The winning ticket, worth $1.1 million, was sold at Dierbergs at 6211 Mid Rivers Mall Drive and matched all six numbers numbers drawn in the April 27 Lotto drawing.

Board Approves Improvement Deadline for Suemandy CID

  • A Suemandy Community Improvement District (CID) was back in front of the St. Peters Board of Aldermen asking for another extension.  G.J. Grewe, Inc., the owners of the Mid Rivers Plaza shopping center that includes Big Lots andToys "R" Us, received approval for CID in November 2008. The original CID required the improvements to be finished by Dec. 1, 2011, but that didn't happen.

St. Peters Closing Nob Hill Pool

  • The outdoor pool at Nob Hill is closing and there are no plans to re-open. St. Peters is closing the pool on Sutters Mill Road off Jungermann Road this spring, citing decreasing revenue at the pool and the need for significant repairs to the pool. The Nob Hill was the smallest of St. Peters’ three outdoor pools, but the city said the pool accounted for 39% of the operational deficit to run those pools.
