Week In Review: Tattoo Shop Approved, St. Peters Golf Course Fee May Increase and More

In case you missed them, here were some of the top headlines from the St. Peters Patch from the last few days.

Pandora Ink Tattoo Shop Gains Board Approval

• The second time was the charm for Pandora Ink. After a contentious round of public comments with those in favor and those opposed trying sway the board, the St. Peters Board of Aldermen approved the tattoo establishment with a 5-3 vote. The board voted to amend a P.E.U. Development Agreement to allow the shop to open its doors in the Dollar Tree Plaza near Grand Teton and Mexico Road. Aldermen Don Aytes (Ward 4), Judy Bateman (Ward 2) and Dave Thomas (Ward 1) voted against the shop. 

Fees May Increase on St. Peters Golf Course

• St. Peters may increase fees for the St. Peters Golf Course by $1 for golfers on weekday and weekend nine holes and 18 holes walking or riding. The 18-hole, 70-acre city-owned golf course is located at 200 Salt Lick Road, on the east side of Salt Lick. The fee increases are expected to raise an additional $25,000 a year for capital improvements and to cover shortfalls, said Jeff Hutsler, manager of Parks and Recreation for St. Charles. 

Update: Missing Adult Found Safe

• Cara Ascencio has been found. Ascencio, 21, had been missing since Jan. 31, but was found Sunday night. St. Peters PoliceMedia Relations Officer Melissa Doss said Ascencio was found in Illinois and was safe.

• A North St. Louis County woman was arrested for shoplifting and trespassing at the St. Peters Walmart with her 10-year-old daughter. Kimyette M. Williams, 33, of the 500 block of Dornoch Drive in Glasgow Village, was charged with felony theft, first-degree trespassing and possession of drug-related items.

• St. Peters will replace Willot Road Bridge, nearCovenant Park, in 2015. At the same time, the city plans to widen the north side of Willot Road in that area. Russ Batzel, city public works services manager, said the dual left turn lane from Jungermann Road onto Willott Road requires drivers to merge fairly quickly into one lane. The city plans to widen Willot Road to allow for more traffic volume.
