Community Corner

Dollars for Scholars

Local area McDonald’s Restaurants and their beverage supplier, Coca-Cola, have connected with Graduate America Priority 1(GAP1) to host FREE educational awareness events called “Dollars for Scholars” beginning April 7th and running every Saturday through June 30, 2012 from 10 am – 2 pm at specifically identified stores in the Westplex.  These events are intended to help educate adults and students in the community about higher education opportunities and assist them with the first steps towards improving their career opportunities by identifying their strengths, establishing goals and starting their qualification for potential State and Federal funding.

GAP1 is the first program of its kind in the country that is addressing the Nation’s goal to be “Workforce Ready“ by 2020. To learn more about GAP1 or the Dollars for Scholars events and the participating McDonald’s restaurants visit www.GAP1.org or contact their Marketing & PR Consultant, Julie Eudy at 636-379-1750 or via email at Julie@GoldenServicesGroup.com.
