Police: Men Steal Hundreds of Dollars in Change From Laundromat

St. Peters laundromat owner noticed missing money from change machine and discovered two males in the business after hours on surveillance tape.

The owner of the Best Way told police he noticed his change machines were missing money—several hundred dollars worth. The owner consulted surveillance footage and noticed two men in the business after hours.

Best Way closes at 10:30 p.m., but the surveillance video shows two men inside just after midnight on Thursday, July 26. Police describe one man as a white male in his late 20s. He's described as thin, sporting a goatee and balding. In the video he wore a "Hurley" hat. The other man, also a white male in his 20s, has a more stocky build.

Police believe the men were able to access the business through a malfunction with the doors. According to St. Peters Police, the suspects arrived at the business at approximately 12:30 a.m in a white vehicle, possibly a Chrysler. Once inside the business, the duo was able to manipulate the coin machine to keep dispensing quarters. Police say the suspects were able to steal several hundred dollars in quarters before leaving.

St. Peters Police are asking for anyone with information on the identity of the suspects on the surveillance photos, to call Detective Paul Barish at 636-278-2244 ext. 3531 or 636-278-2222.
